[BWNA] Reminder: Please Do Not Email Large Attachments (250K max.)

Hi folks,

Again, a reminder as data files get bigger and bigger, and people still use
email to send them around, not to send email larger than 250K to the BWNA
mailing lists (regular and board-only.)

Also, they should be specific to the BWNA, like the email Bill Markwart sends
as an example of what's appropriate.

Our mail server is run off my DSL line and if a 1MB file is mailed out to 80+
members, my network slows to a crawl for 10-15 minutes, which effects other
things on my server and prevents me from working.

I can look into alternatives: there's free lists like Yahoo! and pay-for ones,
if people really feel they want to receive large files on the BWNA lists?

PLEASE NOTE: Switching would mean the new lists would not have the same name
as the Web site.

I am in the process of building a new server and moving services over to it
this week (or three) so this would be a good time to change to something else
if people feel they want to get large attachments in BWNA email. Feedback
welcome.

Cheers, Rob V.
