Hello there,

As I announced at last night's Board meeting, I've decided to move to
the Lents neighborhood and so have resigned my position as President
of the BWNA. For the time being, Bill Markwert will be serving as
acting President (he's our current vice pres.) until someone steps
forward to fill my role. The neighborhood association is actually in
a very good position right now - our treasury has a decent amount of
funds and the board has 8 very good members who seem enthusiastic to
carry out the work (plus 3 officers, so 11 people all together).
There are two open board positions, by the way - so if you're thinking
of joining the Board, please step forward. Last night there was no
video-taping, by the way, so if that's been hindering your
participation know that that activity may have ceased.

It's been great being the President and being part of the BWNA. I
posted my farewell message (that will also appear in the BWNA
newsletter) on-line at BlueOregon.com
http://www.blueoregon.com/2007/05/final_message_a.html I encourage
you to read it there as there have been some follow up comments that
are very interesting regarding my main call to "rip out your lawns and
plant vegetables and fruit trees".

I'll be participating in the neighborhood events and of course
continuing to shop and eat in the neighborhood, so I hope to see you
someday soon.

Thanks for those of you who've been part of my two years in the neighborhood.

Albert Kaufman
