Sad news, not far from our neighborhood (they're in Concordia.) Seems like a
rash of breakins in our area lately?

Dear Friends and Supporters:
Last Tuesday morning we walked into the Community Cycling Center to find it
burglarized. Our hearts sank as we looked over the mess. The intruders
ransacked desks, scattered files, and toppled displays. The shop was cleaned
out of locks, lights, and parts. Three refurbished bikes were missing.
We closed the shop and spent the rest of the day cleaning and organizing. A
crew of volunteers came in Tuesday night and put the shop back in order so we
could reopen on Wednesday.
The loss is estimated at $12,000 and counting. This does not include
security upgrades.
We deeply appreciate the generous support we have received to date. More than
25 people have donated over $1,500. Insurance will cover some costs,
too. However, we need an additional $10,000 to recover losses and make
upgrades to prevent thefts in the future.
You can help. We invite you to make a financial contribution to help
strengthen the Community Cycling Center:

Any amount is helpful.
Not feeling flush? Donate a bike. We needed bikes before the break-in and we
need them now more than ever. We're looking for good quality adult bikes and
kids bikes that we will refurbish and use in our programs.
We look forward to continuing our excellent work of reaching kids, recycling
bikes and restoring community.
Thanks,
Susan Remmers
