Subject: Invitation to Citywide Tree Preservation meeting

Please accept apologies if you have already received this notice from
another source.

This is your neighborhood’s invitation to join the Citywide Tree
Preservation Committee a group of citizens and organizations who are
interested in exploring strategies to ensure the preservation and
enhancement of Portland’s urban forest and tree canopy. Please join this
process and come prepared to share information on current initiatives and
any successes that you have had in protecting our significant and valuable
trees. We will explore ways to coordinate information so citizens who value
trees can respond promptly when opportunities arise for comment on city
policies or proposed code changes, and make our activities more effective.
Policies and codes for discussion include those that impact trees in parks,
natural areas, street right of ways and trees on private property. Note that
by attending this meeting you are not obligating yourself to any future
meetings. We do not plan on routine meetings, but will use this occasion to
develop strategies for continued communication. We hope to see you on
Wednesday July 26th from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the Northstar Ballroom 635
N. Killingsworth Ct. (one block south of N. Killingsworth between N.
Borthwick and N. Kerby). Contact Greg Schifsky at 503-246-2714
gregsch at hevanet.com for details.
