Subject: house concert: sept 24
Sunday, September 24: Buddy Mondlock with She Said Yes
We¹re thrilled to present Nashville singer-songwriter Buddy Mondlock in
concert with special guests She Said Yes, Sunday September 24, 6 to 8pm, in
a cozy living room setting. Admission is $22.00, which includes a light
seasonal buffet by chef Sasha Kaplan. Coffee and tea are provided, and
you're welcome to bring your own bottle of wine. We only have room for the
first 36 paid admissions, so don¹t wait!
Sasha, your house concert chef, is a lifelong Simon & Garfunkel fan. A
couple of years ago she had to see Artie at the Aladdin Theater. With him,
providing original songs, great harmonies and solid guitar support (both on
tour and on record) was Buddy Mondlock. So when Buddy¹s agent contacted me,
I couldn¹t say no. Buddy has solid Nashville songwriting credits. His
songs have been recorded by Nanci Griffith, Janis Ian, Joan Baez, Peter,
Paul & Mary and Garth Brooks. The late Townes Van Zandt said ³Buddy
Mondlock writes beautiful songs and plays the kind of guitar they deserve.
He¹s a fine person and fine artist.² Taste Buddy¹s licks at
www.buddymondlock.com.
She Said Yes is one of Portland¹s best kept musical secrets. Husband
and wife team of Eric and Laurie Wilson weave a haunting web of soaring
vocals and tasty acoustic guitar and piano. One reviewer described them as
³James Taylor marries Tori Amos in a ceremony officiated by Ani DiFranco.²
I discovered them when I answered an ad from a group looking for a drummer.
We kept in touch, and now I have the privilege of presenting them in
concert. You can hear some sample tunes at http://www.shesaidyes.net
To reserve tickets, mail your check to Matt Miner, 2335 NE 41st Ave.,
Portland, OR 97212, and I¹ll e-mail back your confirmation. For more
information, please call 503-484-8196, or e-mail me by reply. I look
forward to sharing another wonderful evening of music.
Future Concerts:
Nov. 5 Dave Frishberg and Rebecca Kilgore
Dec. 3 Raina Rose and Garrett Brennan
Feb. 11 Johnsmith and introducing Zoe Kaplan
